Her Dog Started Acting Strange at 3AM — Doctors Say It Saved Her Life

Linda Morrison, 67, thought her dog Max was just being difficult that Tuesday night when he started barking at 3AM and wouldn’t stop. She tried everything — giving him water, letting him outside, even putting him in another room. But Max kept scratching at her bedroom door, whining louder than she had ever heard. “I was honestly annoyed,” Linda admitted. “I thought something scared him outside.” But when Linda finally got up and turned on the kitchen light, she felt dizzy and collapsed against the counter. She managed to call 911 before losing consciousness. Paramedics arrived to find a dangerous gas leak filling the house. Doctors later told Linda that if she had stayed asleep another 30 minutes, she likely would not have woken up. Max was found sitting beside her on the kitchen floor, not leaving her side. “He knew before any alarm, before any detector,” Linda said from her hospital bed, tears in her eyes. “He just knew.” Max has since been given an honorary award by the local fire department — the first dog in the county to receive one.
